Atlantic Canada is increasingly becoming multicultural

There are thirty-four (34) First Nations in the Atlantic Region with a registered population of 23,689 on reserve and 39,415 off reserve, for a total population of 63,104 as of November 2015.

The Atlantic Canada has attracted over 80,000 immigrants within five years. The number of immigrants tripled since 2002 especially because of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.

There's approximately 273,165 French-speaking population in Atlantic Canada. Over 230,000 of this population is in New Brunswick.

More international students are choosing to study in Canada at universities in the Atlantic region. Atlantic Canada now has a total of more than 19,000 full-time international students, according to the figures released by the Association of Atlantic Universities in 2019.
